Let’s find out together all the mobility benefits for disadvantaged groups
We often hear about the increase of prices and inflation that have affected all sectors, including mobility. Every city has had to update its taxi fares, but in parallel has put in place a series of incentives to facilitate mobility for persons with disabilities, elderly and women and for urban transportation.
Incentives provided by the Municipality of Bolzano/Bozen
The Municipality of Bolzano/Bozen has decided to encourage the use of taxis for all age and population groups by offering vouchers. The value of a voucher ranges between 3€ to 5€ and is valid for a maximum of 30 to 50 vouchers per year.
Who is entitled?
Taxi rosa (Pink taxi): this category includes women and girls of any age who live in the Municipality of Bolzano/Bozen and are in possession of the “TAXI ROSA” card. The value of the voucher is €5 for each journey made between 22:00 and 06:00, on any day of the week. For women over the age of 65, the time slot is brought forward to 20:00. The maximum number of vouchers that can be used in a year is 50.
Taxi senior (Elderly taxi): all persons over the age of 70 who live in the Municipality of Bolzano/Bozen (either as their domicile or residence) fall under this category. The only requirement is the possession of a Senior-Taxi-Card. The value of the voucher is €3 per journey on any day of the week from 00:00 to 24:00 for a maximum of 30 vouchers per year.
Taxi SASA: all citizens that make use of TAXI services for journeys that are not covered by public transportation, are eligible for a reimbursement of 5€ for each journey within the urban circuit. The reimbursement is valid for journeys made between 22:00 and 06:00, for a maximum of 50 vouchers per year. Possession of the ‘Alto Adige Pass’ is a requirement.
Taxi mobility: this service is dedicated to persons with disabilities over 67% who reside in the Municipality of Bolzano/Bozen. The value of the voucher is 3€ per journey and is valid both on holidays and during the week, from 00:00 to 24:00, for a maximum of 60 vouchers per year.
The SASA card, and only the SASA card, can be combined with other types of cards, while vouchers cannot be combined with one another for the reimbursement of a single journey.
Therefore, as you can see, incentives exist and are helpful for both citizens and taxi drivers, which have suffered a setback in the last two years due to the pandemic.
